Terms & content protection policy
Last updated 2026. By using Namibart you agree to these terms.
1. Using Namibart
Namibart is a marketplace and exhibition space for Namibian films, music, digital art and games. You need an account to unlock paid work. Accounts are personal — sharing your login, or the streaming links issued to your session, is a breach of these terms and may result in suspension.
2. Creator rights and licensing
Creators keep full ownership of everything they upload. By publishing on Namibart you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, stream, transcode, watermark, promote and sell your work on the platform, and to display previews of it. You confirm you hold the rights to everything you upload, including music, footage and likenesses.
3. What a purchase gives you
Unlocking a work buys you a personal, non-transferable licence to watch, listen to, view or play it through your own account. It does not transfer copyright and does not permit redistribution, re-uploading, public screening, resale, or use in any derivative or commercial work without the creator's written permission.
Purchased digital art may be downloaded at full resolution through a short-lived, account-linked link for your personal use only.
4. How we protect content
Every work on Namibart is protected by layered measures:
- Films and music stream from private storage through short-expiry, signed URLs issued per viewing session. There is no permanent public file link, and links expire.
- Player downloads, right-click saving, drag-saving and long-press saving are disabled across the platform.
- Playback pauses and artwork blurs when the tab loses focus, as a deterrent against capture setups.
- Draft and unpublished work, including behind-the-scenes images, is readable only by its owner.
5. What protection does not guarantee
We want to be straight with creators and buyers: no website can prevent screenshots or screen recording. Your browser and operating system always have access to what is on your screen. Our measures raise the effort required, remove the easy save-and-share paths, and make leaks traceable — they do not make content impossible to copy. Anyone telling you otherwise is overselling it, and we won't.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not circumvent or attempt to circumvent our protection measures, scrape or rip streams, remove or obscure watermarks, redistribute purchased files, or upload work you do not own. Doing so ends your access without refund and may lead to legal action by the rights holder.
7. Payments and refunds
Prices are shown in Namibian dollars unless stated otherwise. Because unlocking a work gives immediate access to the full piece, purchases are generally final. If a work does not play or is misdescribed, contact us and we will make it right.
8. Reporting and takedowns
If your work appears on Namibart without permission, or you find content that breaches these terms, report it from the work's page or contact us. Verified claims are removed promptly and repeat infringers are banned.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced on the site, and continued use means you accept the updated terms.
